The Government Of India has decided to give a boost to the sagging morale of Indian Hockey by funding the laying and maintenance of 40 astro turfs, or artificial surfaces, across the country. Currently, there are only about 20 turfs in playing condition in India(no surprise here). The increase in astro turfs will help Indian Hockey as modern hockey is played on them.
